Modifying your Vespa can be fun and cool at the same time. There are a number of modifications that you can do with your Vespa, many of which don’t invovle getting your hands dirty or having an advanced knowledge of flat washers. One type of modification you can do can be to enhance and boost the Vespa’s performance. Some of the modifications you might want to do include:

Turn Signal Audible Beeper

Most of the times while riding the scooter we forget to turn off the turn signal. It can be quite annoying for other cars and road safety is risked. Adding an audible beeper for the turn signal to the scooter can be a great mod in this case. All you need to do is to wire a 12 volt beeper in parallel with right and left indicator wires.

Upgrading the Scooter Horn

An old scooter horn doesn’t sound that well and might not have the horn sound that you may desire. You can easily get a new scooter horn of your choice from any maintenance shop. Keep in mind that it must draw almost the same voltage as the old one which is usually 12 volts. It can be replaced by the new one by simply unscrewing the old horn and removing it. Bolt in the new horn and connect the power wires as indicated on the horn manual.

Head Light Modulators

If you like to increase the conspicuity of your scooter then you can modify the head light by adding a plug-on modulator unit. This is a small unit which attaches itself to the bulb and has a modulating body that you can hide in your dashboard. The flashing level of the head light can be adjusted from the modulator body.

Heated Bike Grips

There are a lot of aftermarket heated grips available at maintenance and body part shops to keep your hands warm during the ride. It needs a lot of things to be done in order to properly install these self heating grips. It may be better to get them installed by a professional electrician.
