The New Old Car

Your daughter’s 16th birthday is just around the corner and you know its time to get her a new set of wheels. Well, she deserves it, doesn’t she?! She would love to have a VW Beetle or the cool Fiat 500 Hatchback, or even the Mini Cooper. But these are expensive cars and it might just give your budget a jolt. Thankfully, there’s another option. You can go in for second hand models of all these cars without blowing up your budget, and keeping your daughter happy at the same time!
However, buying a second hand car is like going for low cost flights - you’ll get where you want to go, but without the frills. But if you’re smart, you can get a very good deal on used cars. Did you know that a brand new car loses as much as 40% of its value, in just the first year of purchase? No wonder second hand cars come so cheap!
When buying a used car, you should get your own mechanic to check if all is proper and in working condition. There’s no point buying a used car and having to fix it all over again.
Check how many miles has the used car run - the lesser, the better.
Make sure the paint is fresh, and other features like central locking and automatic windows are in place. Remember, all features may not always be part of the deal, so you may have to add on the ones you need.
Other things to check are the registration papers, whether its been involved in any accident, whether its been taxed, etc. Always go in for a reliable used car seller, so you get the best value for your money.
